Gold Security Guard Services, Inc. listen to our clients, then
select security guards from our team that meet their requirements.
Our system is geared to produce uniformed officers after 14-21 days
of intensive training performed by our in house New York State Certified
Training Instructor. During the first 3 -4 days the officers receive
training in the 8-hour Pre-Assignment, 16-hour O.J.T and optional
Fire Guard Preparation classes.
The topics covered in the 8 hour Pre-Assignment class are:
- Role of a security guard;
- Legal powers and limitations;
- Emergency situations;
- Communication and Public Relations;
- Access control;
- Ethics and conduct;
- Review and Examination.
To meet the requirements of the NYSDCJS a security guard must have a minimum score
of 70% on the exam to receive the 8-hour Certificate. The examination
not only test knowledge gained but also the guard ability to read,
write and understand the English language.
16 Hour O.J.T Class
This class is held over a two-day period.
Day 1
- Role of the security guard;
- Legal powers and limitations;
- Emergency situations;
- Review and Examination.
To meet the requirements of the NYSDCJS a security guard must receive a minimum
score of 70% on the exam. The examination not only test knowledge
gained but also the security guard ability to read, write and understand
the English language.
Day 2
- Communication and Public Relations
- Access control;
- Ethics and conduct;
- Report writing;
- Review and Examination.
To receive the 16-hour O.J.T Certificate a security guard must meet the requirements
of NYSDCJS, with a minimum score of 70% on both days. Then a 16-hour
Certificate is issued.
Fire Guard Preparation
If our client request Fire Guards for hi-rise/office buildings, hotels/motels,
homeless shelters, places of public assembly or any other location,
the appropriate class is taught and guard prepared for the Fire Department's
exam. Successful security guards are certified by New York City Fire
Department.
After successfully completing this 3-4 day training, our officers
are fingerprinted and appropriate documentation are sent to Albany
for criminal background checks. During this waiting period drug
screening and other checks are conducted. We strive to exercise
due diligence in our hiring practice to prevent negligent hiring.
Security guards must pass all checks in order to become a member
of our team.
